Quoted from the local Arc website: "Angela wrote this song as a high school senior after someone called her a 'retard' on the school bus. Angela herself is affected by a developmental disability and knows first-hand how hurtful the word 'retarded' can be. Angela is a phenomenal self-advocate who has made it her personal goal to educate children, teachers, and her community songs and beautifully illustrated children's books. Angela believes that all people with developmental disabilities should be celebrated for who they are and for the truly inspirational qualities in which each individual possesses."
